TAI’s insect repellent and insecticide products are effective and provide broad protection from insects both indoors and outdoors, and have been available in the Greek market since 1989.

Using advanced active ingredients, such as PRALLETHRIN in insecticidal products and ICARIDIN and IR3535 in body insect repellent products , they provide you with effective protection tailored to the needs and circumstances of each use.

Insects are repelled by the active ingredients contained in body insect repellents as they can detect them with their antennae. Body insect repellents work in several ways to prevent the aggressive approach of insects. Many insect repellents contain substances that emit an odor that is repulsive to insects and some may contain substances that affect the senses of insects. Insect repellent products should always be used in accordance with the instructions for use on the product label.

We recommend that you always consult a doctor before applying insect repellents during pregnancy to ensure that you are using the right product for your needs.

Body insect repellents are designed to be applied directly to the skin, and provide protection to uncovered areas of the body. For proper use of body insect repellent lotions, always follow the instructions and precautions on the product label.

You can apply body lotions in combination with sunscreens. Always apply TAI lotions at least 20 minutes after your sunscreen has dried. It is important to follow the instructions for use on the packaging.

Mosquitoes’ food is nectar and pollen, but it is the females that bite because they need the blood that is necessary for the maturation of their eggs. So, before each laying, they attack humans and animals. Mosquitoes can detect us, by our body heat and by the chemicals we emit when we breathe or sweat. Depending on our body chemistry, we are likely to attract more or less mosquitoes. Also, dark-colored clothing is more likely to attract mosquitoes than light-colored clothing.

As mosquitoes bite, they inject their saliva into our bodies to dilute our blood so that they can suck it more easily. Our immune system becomes active, histamine is released which dilates the blood vessels in the bite area. Histamine can irritate some nerve fibers and the result is itching. A round and swollen lump or a small red dot may appear due to the immune response.
